Your prescription medication, delivered to your door
Online doctor consultations. AES-signed prescriptions. Convenient medication delivery.
You've seen the doctor. You've received your prescription. Now imagine skipping the pharmacy queue altogether. Udok is exploring a new prescription medication delivery service that could make getting the medicine you need as convenient as speaking to a doctor online.
- HPCSA-registered doctors
- AES-signed e-prescriptions
- Delivery to home or work

From online doctor consultation to your doorstep
We're exploring a simpler way to connect online healthcare, electronic prescriptions and pharmacy delivery. Here's how the proposed service would work.
Consult with a doctor online
Speak to an HPCSA-registered South African doctor through Udok without unnecessary travel or waiting rooms.
Receive your AES-signed electronic prescription
When medication is clinically appropriate, your doctor can issue an electronic prescription secured with an Advanced Electronic Signature (AES), supporting legally compliant digital prescribing and allowing the prescription to be sent electronically to a pharmacy.
Have your medication delivered
Instead of travelling to collect your medicine, arrange for eligible prescriptions to be dispensed by a participating pharmacy and delivered to your home or workplace.
Why make the extra trip?
When you're not feeling well or managing a busy schedule, collecting medication shouldn't be another inconvenience. With Udok's proposed prescription medication delivery service, you could:
Skip pharmacy queues
Avoid unnecessary waiting and travelling to collect medication.
Enjoy home delivery
Get eligible prescription medicine delivered to your home or workplace.
Simplify repeat prescriptions
Make managing eligible chronic and repeat medication more convenient.
Connect your healthcare
Bring together online doctor consultations, secure AES-signed prescriptions and pharmacy delivery.
Save valuable time
One less errand when you or someone in your family needs medication.
See a doctor from anywhere
Consult by video from your phone, tablet or computer, then let the medication come to you.
Because getting better shouldn't require another trip across town.
Made for the medicine you need, however often you need it
Whether it's medication for a once-off illness or regular treatment, we're working towards making prescription medicine delivery easier and more accessible across South Africa.
- Once-off prescriptions after an online consultation
- Chronic and repeat medication every month
- Parents managing medication for the whole family
- Anyone who simply wants a more convenient way to receive medicine

Secure, AES-signed electronic prescriptions
Udok supports Advanced Electronic Signatures (AES) on prescriptions through an SAAA-accredited provider. An AES-signed prescription supports legally compliant digital prescribing and can be sent electronically to a participating pharmacy, which is what makes delivery without a paper script possible.
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about a service we're still shaping.
Is Udok prescription medication delivery available now?
Not yet. Udok is exploring a prescription medication delivery service and is registering interest to understand where it is needed most. Registering your interest is free and does not commit you to anything. We will contact you about delivery areas and availability as plans firm up.
How would the service work?
You would consult with an HPCSA-registered doctor online through Udok. When medication is clinically appropriate, your doctor can issue an AES-signed electronic prescription. The proposed service would then let you arrange for eligible prescriptions to be dispensed by a participating pharmacy and delivered to your home or workplace.
What is an AES-signed electronic prescription?
An Advanced Electronic Signature (AES) is a legally recognised electronic signature issued through an accredited provider. An AES-signed prescription supports legally compliant digital prescribing in South Africa and can be sent electronically to a pharmacy, so you do not need a paper script.
Could chronic medication be delivered too?
That is the intention. Making eligible chronic and repeat medication more convenient to manage is a core part of the proposed service. Tell us in the form whether once-off prescriptions, chronic medication or both interest you, so we can plan around real demand.
Which areas would be covered?
Delivery areas have not been decided. We are gathering interest across South Africa, and your province and city or suburb help us understand where to launch first. There is no commitment either way until the service is confirmed.
Would every medication be eligible for delivery?
No. Only eligible prescriptions dispensed by a participating pharmacy would qualify, and the pharmacy and your doctor decide what is clinically appropriate. Some medicines will always need to be collected in person.
Can I already get an online prescription with Udok?
Yes. Udok doctors already issue electronic prescriptions after an appropriate online consultation. See the online prescription page for how it works today, including how pharmacies verify a prescription.
